Top Gear Driving Academy was founded in 1991 by Gordon O'Neill. Prior to becoming a Driving Instructor, Gordon was a professional Chauffeur for the Managing Directors of various Blue Chip companies in the North East whilst also running a very successful Taxi Firm.
Becoming a Driving Instructor was a natural career progression from his previous businesses, and seeing as driving had played a very large part in his life, Gordon wanted to pass on his skills, knowledge and experience to others.
As well as being a fully qualified Driving Instructor (DSA ADI), Gordon is also a member or RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) and has achieved the Gold Standard in their rigorous driving tests for the assessment of advance drivers.
He is also a DSA registered Fleet Instructor, and regularly carries out Fleet Tuition for various high profile companies in the North East, and for the National Driver Improvements Scheme.
