Practical Driving Test

Preparing for the Practical Test can be done whilst you are studying for your Theory Test. Infact, learning to drive will often help in improving your knowledge on the Highway Code and prepare you for many of the elements involved in the Theory Test, including Hazard Perception.

As your Driving Instructor, I will ensure that together we fulfil the criteria set out by the DSA so that you are well prepared for the Practical Test. The following list, outlines briefly what you will need to learn and be competent in, before taking the test:-

Drivers Record

To help you keep track of your progress, I will keep a drivers record. At the end of each lesson, we will review your record together and any improvements will be noted.

Show & Tell

Part of the practical test now includes a section called Show and Tell. This part of the test has been designed to test your knowledge on certain physical aspects of the car such as tyre tread & pressure andwhere the oil & water goes etc.
