Welcome to TopGear Driving Academy
So, you want to learn to drive?......
Learning to drive is an exciting and rewarding experience. You're probably already thinking about what you'll do once you're qualified to drive unsupervised....
Learning to drive however, does take time, and some of us pick it up faster than others, but we all have fun along the way.
What will I need to start learning?......
To start learning to dirve you will need to obtain a Provisional Driving Licence. You can apply for this 3 months prior to your 17th birthday, however, you will not be able to commence driving until you are officially 17.
Details of how to apply for your licence and current fees can obtained from the DVLA.
What do I need to pass a driving test?......
After receiving your Provisional Licence, there are two parts to becoming a qualified driver. The first is your Theory Test, which is taken at your local Theory Test Centre. After successfully passing this you will have 2 years in which to pass your Practical Driving Test on the road with a Driving Examiner.
How long will it take?......
Statistics show that you will require an average of 40 hours tuition with an Approved Driving Instructor, as well as any additional supervised driving with family and friends. This does vary however depending on your age and how quickly you master the basic controls of the car. We will review your driving after each lesson and identify the improvements you have made and any areas will work on in the next lesson.
